Abigail's Party

'Abigail's Party is a suburban situation comedy of manners and a satire on the aspirations and tastes of the 1970s middle class. It was developed through lengthy improvisations during which time the characters were explored in depth

The play takes place over one evening at Beverly and Laurence’s house. They’ve invited a neighbouring couple, Angela and Tony who are new arrivals in the street along with Sue who is taking refuge from her teenage daughter’s party. As Beverly plies her guests with drinks and nibbles, tensions emerge and the evening begins to break up in disarray as they clash over politics, music, and personal aspirations until…there is a very unexpected ending.  It is great entertainment watching everyone’s antics in this classic comedy. So come along in true 1970s party spirit and enjoy being a fly on the wall at this party from hell!'

Performances run from 9 to 12 October inclusive, starting at 7.30pm at the Warehouse Theatre, Ilminster
