The SFD committee recently met for lunch at the Haselbury Mill and invited our former Chairman Sam Allen and his wife Yvonne to join us. At this meeting, Sam was announced as the SFD’s latest Life Member and he is pictured receiving his Certificate from Dendy Harris (pictured left), the current SFD Chairman and Di Dean, the most recent past Vice Chairman.
Di highlighted some of the tasks which Sam had successfully carried out including recently redesigning the SFD website which was a particularly onerous job, taking up so much of his time. Sam still continues to act as a consultant to the current Online Manager which is very much appreciated by the present incumbent.
Over the years, Sam has been a Cinderella adjudicator for 24 years, played various stage roles in plays and pantomimes and was also the Cinderella Moderator, a role that he is reprising for the 2024/2025 season.
Di thanked him for his willingness to help and support us all and especially for the personal support she received, adding that he always had the answer to any queries which arose.
