Date for your diary: Friday 20th October at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster
The Phoebe Rees Competition is a year-round full-length play competition which is open to any SFD-affiliated drama group. This is how the SFD started nearly 100 years ago. The competition was named in honour of Phoebe Rees, a West Somerset resident who not only founded the hugely successful Nettlecombe Players amateur drama group but also was a successful playwright.
The awards evening is moving back to the Shrubbery in Ilminster, a venue we have returned to often over the years. So here is a date for your diary: The Phoebe Rees Awards Dinner will take place on Friday 20th October at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster. Award nominations will be announced on this website on Wednesday 6th September, together with details of how to purchase tickets for the Dinner. Individual societies will also be informed via their nominated SFD contact.'
